Youth itself already presents many challenges for young people. When social crises add to this, growing up becomes even more difficult. War in their own country is probably the biggest turning point in the lives of young people in Ukraine. This session will shine light on the situation of these young people in Ukraine and discuss the role that social work plays and can play in this situation.
Dr. Oksana Boyko is Associate Professor at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and Chair of the Faculty School of Social Work. She is the first person in Ukraine to be awarded a doctorate in Social Work and has contributed significantly to the development of higher education social work in Ukraine. Her research is focused on international social work, mental health and psychosocial support as well as strengthening community resilience and social innovations.
